Leder to Thorung La high camp

P
A cool little glacial lake with the morning suns reflection

Wake up was 6 and breakfast of oat porridge and warm soup with black tea to get the day off to a warm start.  Last night was pretty cold as it got down into the teens.

We were on the trail just short of seven and had another amazingly clear day.

On the way to Thorung La high camp there was a fun 1/4 mile "landslide" stretch that was pretty exposed and yaks about 1000 feet above knocking bowling ball size rocks down the hill. If you can dodge a wrench a you can dodge a rock.

Thorung La high camp, or mars. Take your pick.

About 4 hours in we saw a helo land and pick up a man with acute mountain sickness (ams)

The last hour was pretty much straight up but there was a nice sense of accomplishment when arriving at the last camp before the pass.

Tonight we would be sleeping at over 15,000 feet+.

Amazing views from high camp
