We briefly heard from Derik late last night/early this AM - doing great! He was at a very remote tea house and actually called on a land line - not sure how that even works out there. Apparently cell service is sketchy which is why the posts have slowed these few days. They were getting ready for the day's adventure: to traverse a pass near Siri Kharka. It has been a physically challenging climb these past few days but the weather has cleared and he's navigating the altitude well! I'm sure he'll be ready to take the boots off and just sit at the day's end today. Feel free to post him a comment or two along the way to give him some motivation!
