Chame - Pisang - Manang ( Friday-Sunday)

The last few days have been amazing albeit extremely difficult.  Difficult for two reasons: 1. the weather has been a challange the whole way.  It has rained everyday, some for the duration of the day, if not then an afternoon shower for good measure.  2. The elevation:  the higher you go the harder it is to breath, eat (loss of appetite) and just about everything else.

I'm currently at close to 12,000 feet and my resting heart rate is close to 80 vs mid 50's.  Great way to burn calories.

So we have taken a pass on the Tilicho Lake extension due to the snow at the elevations we'd have to pass through makes for too high of avalanche danger.  Many areas around here are still feeling the effects if the cyclone and have seen almost 6 feet of snow on the last 5 days.

Tomorrow we are up to Thorung Phedi for the night (14,599ft).

The following day we at off to 'conquor' the Thorung La pass topping out at 17,768 feet and then sleeping that night in Muktinath at a relative low elevation of 12,335.

This woman will walk for about 8 hours this way.

Prayer wheels greet you at the entrance of each village.  It is customers to always walk so the wheels are on your right hand side.
